17 Romanians arrested in the UK, after extensive action


British police arrested 17 Romanians, following an operation aimed at destroying an international network of live meat trafficking. Police found 29 alleged victims following the intervention.

Raids were carried out in 16 cities in the United Kingdom, the British intervention team being supported in this operation by the Romanian Police, writes The Evening Standard, quoted by Adevărul.

Police found 29 alleged victims after they destroyed the network of Romanians accused of bringing women to the UK for prostitution. 17 people (14 men and three women), between the ages of 17 and 50, were arrested on suspicion of slavery, prostitution, drug charges and possession of a weapon with electric shocks. The victims are women between the ages of 20 and 40, being rescued by British police and transported to a special center.
