A 5.4-degree earthquake occurred in southeastern France on Monday, feeling strongly at regional level, the French media reports, according to Mediafax.

The 5.4-degree earthquake occurred around noon in the Montélimar (Drôme) area, announces the Central Seismology Bureau of France (BCSF). The earthquake occurred at a depth of only ten kilometers.

At least three people were injured following the earthquake, and dozens of calls were received at the emergency number.

The earthquake was strongly felt in the cities of Lyon, Montpellier, Saint-Etienne, Grenoble, Avignon and Marseille, reports the daily Le Figaro.
