Thierry Henry will have a new adventure as first coach, in this case in the Montreal Impact Canadian who plays in the MLS, league where the French retired. Henry signs for two seasons with option to one more in 2022.
The hiring has been made official by the club through a statement in its Twitter account. "We are extremely happy to announce the nomination of this sport legend," said Montreal Impact CEO Kevin Gilmore.
The French coach will lead the Canadian team that finished last season in ninth position of the MLS, not getting qualified for the playoffs. Montreal has players the likes of Bacary Sagna or Bojan Krkic, with whom he shared costumes at FC Barcelona in his stage as a player.
The trajectory of 'Tití' on the benches is poor. He was coach at the Arsenal academy, and then was Roberto Martinez's assistant in the Belgian national team for two years. In the 18/19 season he assumed for the first time the role of first coach in Monaco under a lot of expectation, but twenty games later he had to leave office. Now in the MLS you have your chance to redeem yourself and re-aim at the great coach that everyone promised you would be.
