Monday Mercury Transition, but do we see anything of it? | Interior

The mercury transition is the moment when the planet Mercury is exactly between the sun and the Earth. In addition, the planet is visible as a small black dot on the solar disk. A mercury transition is similar to a solar eclipse, but because Mercury is much farther away than the moon, the planet seems very small and the sunlight is hardly muted. Only 0.0026 percent less sunlight reaches the Earth.

Monday is also St. Maarten and the start of the carnival season. Children who go to the doors singing and with lanterns at the end of the afternoon and in the evening, have to deal with showers and a strong, cold wind. Carnival lovers also have a chance of getting a wet suit. The KNMI expects local thunderstorms early Monday evening.
