The Government and the opposition of Chile agree a plebiscite to create a new Constitution


The Government and the opposition of Chile have agreed in the early hours of this Friday a road map for provide the country with a new Constitution, through an entry referendum that will ask citizens if they want a new Marga Letter and which constituent formula they prefer: assembly or convention.

The citizen consultation will take place in April 2020 and puts the country on the road to a Constitution that replaces the current one, approved in 1980 during the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet (1973-1990), which has been pointed out by citizens in the current social crisis as the great obstacle to Build a fairer country.
