The regular season of Mexican women's soccer ended, and with it the quarterfinals of the 2019 Apertura were defined, where there will be a national classic between America and Guadalajara.
This league threw another edition of the classic between Águilas and Chivas, as the squads made the 4 and 5, respectively, in the general table, so the first leg will be played in Guadalajara and the second leg in Mexico City.
The teams were not yet defined when the last day arrived, as Monarcas could sneak into the big party if Toluca had lost to Santos, but the “Diablitas” took hold in sixth place in the standings to face Pachuca, who finished in the third step.
The leaders, the Rayadas de Monterrey, closed with a flourish, with a victory against Pumas and their forward star Desirée Monsivais won the title of individual goalscorer along with the scorer of the Tuzas Viridiana Salazar; now they will face the red and black of the Atlas, who finished the regular phase in eighth place.
Tigres, who snatched the subliderato a few days ago to Pachuca, will be measured in the quarterfinals to Xolos de Tijuana, who are in the seventh position of the classification.
Quarterfinals of the Apertura 2019: Monterrey vs Atlas, Tigres vs Tijuana, Pachuca vs. Toluca and América vs Guadalajara.
