A cornice falls from a rooftop in works and destroys several cars parked in the Alcala street of Madrid


A roof cornice in works the afternoon of this Monday has fallen from the height of a fifth floor of a building of offices located at number 4 of the street of Alcalá Galiano del Madrid district of Chamberí without causing personal injury, although it has caused damage to vehicles that were parked.

The event took place at one fifteen in the afternoon when the cornice of the roof on which some works were carried out it has come off in a vacuum and the rubble has fallen to the street, according to Emergencies Madrid

The removal of the debris that has caused the street to have been cut to traffic on the stretch between Monte Esquinza and the Paseo de la Castellana and for security reasons the people who were inside the building were still unable to leave.

The building houses offices of the General Directorate of Local Administration from the Community of Madrid.
