How to remove data from Google Maps Timeline

Google has announced this week a new function that allows the 'mass elimination' of all the information collected in the chronology of Google Maps and the location history, to quickly search and delete several registered places at once.

Timeline is a private query tool that uses User Location History to help you Easily remember places and routes you have visited. In Android, it also allows you to share them with friends.

It is also a section from which the user can consult and manage their location history, as well as edit specific entries or delete period information or delete all history data, as explained from Google on the help page.

Chronology data deletion

Google users can delete all that information corresponding to their activity on Google Maps, either the data collected on a specific day, the last month or all searches made from your Google account if you have the location history activated. With the latest version of Google Maps, you can also make a massive deletion of data.

To delete all location history, you have to open the Google Maps application and in the upper left corner click on 'Menu' and then 'Chronology'. Then, select 'Settings and privacy', choose 'Location settings' and click on 'Delete all location history'. This will erase all the information at once.

Can also be removed a range of history, following the same steps as in the previous case, but in this case choose the option 'Delete range of location history'.

If what you want to do is delete one day, you have to go to the 'Menu', 'Chronology' and choose the calendar icon. The user will only have to select the day they want to delete and it will disappear from their location history.

Finally you can also delete a specific stop. Following the same procedure as in the previous formulas, you must select Remove the stop of the day, and there will be no trace of this information.

By deleting part or all of the location history users they will lose some personalized Google experiences such as recommendations based on places you have already visited or real-time information of places you frequent.
