The Vladimir Putin administration hopes to have a "constructive dialogue" with the Boris Johnson Government, although it is skeptical about improving Russia's relations with the United Kingdom, Le Figaro reports.
Russia wants dialogue with the UK, but is skeptical about improving bilateral relations
"I am convinced that the development of a constructive dialogue and full cooperation in various fields correspond to the interests of our countries and of the whole European continent," Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday.
In his turn, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said he was skeptical about improving Russia's relations with the UK.
"We hope every time that the political forces that win the election, in any country, will join the dialogue and focus on establishing good relations with all countries. But I do not know to what extent these expectations are appropriate for the British Conservatives," stated Dmitri Peskov.
