This Monday will be the third winter storm of the season in the northwest / north of the country, which will cause a marked decrease in temperature, rains and strong winds, as well as snow and / or sleet fall in the mountains of Baja California, Sonora and Chihuahua.

According to the National Meteorological Service (SMN), the cold front number 21, driven by a mass of Arctic air, will move through northern Mexico and interact with a cold core vortex in the upper atmosphere and strong moisture ingress from the Pacific Ocean.

These conditions will cause the third winter storm of the season.

Therefore, rain, strong winds, a marked decrease in temperature, as well as possible snow and / or sleet fall in the mountain areas of Baja California, Sonora and Chihuahua are expected.

Temperatures below -5 degrees Celsius are estimated with frost in the mountains of Baja California, Chihuahua and Durango, and from -5 to 0 degrees Celsius and presence of frosts in the Sonora, Zacatecas, State of Mexico, Mexico City, Tlaxcala, Hidalgo, Puebla and Veracruz.

As well as 0 to 5 degrees Celsius in high areas of Coahuila, Nuevo León, San Luis Potosí, Jalisco, Michoacán, Guanajuato, Morelos and Oaxaca.

Likewise, heavy point rains are forecast in Sonora and Chihuahua; intervals of showers in Coahuila and isolated rains in Baja California, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, Michoacán and Chiapas.

On the other hand, wind gusts of over 70 kilometers per hour (km / h) are expected in areas of Chihuahua and Durango; over 50 km / h in Baja California Sur, Sonora, the Sea of ​​Cortez, Sinaloa, Zacatecas and San Luis Potosí, as well as Surada event on the coasts of Tamaulipas and Veracruz.

In the rest of the national territory, stable weather conditions will prevail with clear skies, daytime from warm to hot and low probability of rains.

Temperatures of 35 to 40 degrees Celsius are forecast at sites in Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Michoacán, Guerrero, Morelos, Oaxaca and Chiapas.

In the forecast by regions, the SMN, under the National Water Commission (Conagua) said that the Peninsula of Baja California will keep on Monday a partly cloudy sky with isolated rains in Baja California, very cold environment, possible snowfall and / or sleet in its mountain area, as well as a temperate environment in Baja California Sur.

In the Central Pacific, clear skies are expected most of the day, with an increase in cloudiness and isolated showers in the afternoon in Michoacán.

The South Pacific will record partly cloudy sky in the afternoon with isolated rains in Chiapas.

Warm atmosphere and southwest wind from 10 to 25 km / h.

Cold atmosphere in the morning and warm during the afternoon with a surada event of 10 to 25 km / h with gusts that can exceed 50 km / h on the coast of Tamaulipas and Veracruz.

The Yucatan Peninsula will present clear sky, hot environment and southeast wind from 10 to 25 km / h.

In the North Table the sky will remain cloudy with heavy punctual rains in Chihuahua, intervals of showers in Coahuila and isolated rains in Nuevo León.
