Tokyo Stock Exchange falls to weak US economic data


The Tokyo Stock Exchange closed down on Tuesday, following declines in New York shares after US manufacturing data weaker than expected caused concern for the country's economic outlook.

The Nikkei of 225 shares, the main indicator of the Tokyo market, fell 149.69 points (0.64 percent), reaching 23,379.81 units.

Meanwhile, the second indicator, the Topix, which groups the values ​​of the first section, fell 7.76 points (0.45 percent), to settle at 706.73 units, the Japanese news agency Kyodo reported.

In the foreign exchange market, the dollar traded around 109.15 yen.
